I Miss My Mac

I miss my mac laptop. A Lot. My wife & daughter went to visit our families over thanksgiving since I knew I’d be working lots of extra hours, and they took the laptop for lots of reasons. I’m glad I’m getting her a G4 iBook for christmas (Shh, don’t tell!) I didn’t think I’d miss it, but Linux doesn’t have good photo-editing software (Gimpheads: Save it. Photoshop rules.) and I’ll be damned if I’m going to use Windows again. Oh Macintosh, why hath thou forsaken me?

Updating Blog, etc

I’m trying to catch up with my blog backlog, making categories and re-categorizing after i imported into MT. I’ve also got a new blog that I’m working on and a re-do to this one. Dang. Plus I’m working today (day after THanksgiving) since our slavedrivertaskmasterdirector is no doubt feeling the pressure from on high to get our product done.

Jumble of emotions

I just got a call, my dad is out of surgery, and although it went well, he has another tumor in his chest, so that means chemo, and whatever other therapy is needed. I don’t know how I feel yet, I’m quivering internally, and trying hard to stem the tide that is pressuring to break out.

Good smells.

My Mom & Dad are going to Toronto today to check into the hospital, get everything ready before he goes under the knife tomorrow. I’m feeling a lot better about it than I was yesterday. I came into work and as I got out of my car, the most wonderful smell hit my nose.. It was like cool, wet earth, the smell of nature, of fall, and of the contented sleepyness of the world, getting ready for winter.
