Near Death Experiance

So I took an hour off of work today to go watch my daughter’s swim class, and we’re getting her into the van and this pickup truck makes the turn onto the street and peels out going up and as it passes up, my wife yells at it “SLOW DOWN”. And it brakes and starts to back up to us. And I look closer, to see that it’s actually a pimped out, low-rider type dual cab, and it’s filled with people.

Blahin along

Work, more work and some work has been keeping me busy.

I’m selling my car to my sister & brother, so I get to do an insane 3 day drive from California to Canuckland. That’ll be fun… NOT! :) It’ll be a lot of driving though, and paperwork and stuff. I have a bunch of stuff that I want to write about but haven’t gotten around to it.. Hopefully. Also, this is my new ride. Peace out y’all!

Hockey – and Cars

So everything that’s going on in the hockey world has been a pain.. but I think it’s good for a lot of reasons. I love the NHL, love the Sharks. But even more than that, I love hockey. I love to watch, love to play, love to talk about it.

I think that we’re getting too wrapped up in the aspect of the NHL. Sure, it’s disappointing that your favorite NHL team won’t be playing this season (and probably next, from where I’m sitting.) but that shouldn’t diminish your love for the game. If you’re a hockey fan, then be a HOCKEY fan, don’t be a Sharks fan, or an NHL fan exlusively. I love going down to my local rink some nights and watching the Beer League teams play, or the highschool kids. Hockey can be just as exciting on a pond or local rink as it is in the NHL.

I guess what I’m getting at is that there won’t be any shortage of quality hockey to watch if you love the game. If the NHL lockout causes you to turn away from hockey anyways, then I don’t really consider that too much of a loss. You probably won’t go to see your NHL team play if they’re on a losing streak either. Love the game, or don’t love it, but don’t say that the lockout is causing you to not like the game, because one set of players or owners don’t represent the game. The people who love the game represent it.

Also, I bought a new vehicle yesterday, and hopefully will pick it up today or tomorrow. More details to come.

Goodbye King Louie

Our good friends Brian and Tracy had to put their dog down last night. He was a 3 year old bloodhound, and somehow got into the garbage and ate a whole bunch of tylenol. This has been the summer of suckage. Too many bad things have happened. I can’t wait to put it behind me and hole up in the winter.

Here’s a picture. Louie is on the right.

Goodbye King Louie. Ye Shall Be Missed.

Red-Headed Stepchild?

I feel like a red-headed stepchild. I had a rough hockey game last night, we had 9 whole skaters, so I got in my 41 minutes of ice time and then only 5 hours of sleep. So I’m tired, worn, dehydrated and grump-ay. A massive headache is permeating my day and the light from my monitor makes me want to take a ball point pen and gouge out my left eye. Damn.
