just came from a meeting from my feature group. things are a mess for every group. stuff isn’t done, the build is breaking regularly, servers aren’t talking to servers, daemons are crashing. it’s a big mess. someone just got dragged in kicking and screaming, to replace me when i leave for 5 days. oh joy.

i’m going into super-high crunch mode at work, so for the next 3 days or so i think i’ll make a special effort to journal little bits of insanity as we approach our beta.

i have this thing for old movies, i really like them. not just any old movie, but film noir type. i love bogart. he’s the original badass, as far as i’m concerned. i’m watching chinatown right now, another detective type movie, that’s very stark and well acted, well written. when people say ‘they don’t make them like they used to’, the movies that i think about are the maltese falcon, casablanca, the big sleep and chinatown. no super effects, no fancy sets, nothing but great writing, great directing, great editing and great acting. you should check out one of them the next time that you’re looking for a good watch. anyways, i’m kickin back at home, nothing big, my wife is out with the girls, the bean is in bed, and i’m relaxing. kelly’s out with cindy bloch, and if that name (or her husband’s – josh bloch) means anything to you, you’re as big a geek as i am. i’m looking forward to reading her book a lot, and if it’s anywhere as near as good as her husbands, it’ll be a must-read. gotta run :)
