Demo and Stuff

Last night we had a big demo where we showed the alpha of our product to our sales people and SEs. It went well. Today was kind of low key, we didn’t do much, talked about the things that we’ve been doing and what we’re going to do for the next couple weeks until we do our long term planning and start breaking things out. I also think there is going to be some re-arranging of people and groups at work, but no real information or evidence yet.

I was talking and thinking about how much things have changed in the last year. Last year I worked for Juniper, lived in a different house, did different things. This year I have a new house, work in Cupertino at Packeteer, and lots of other things have changed too.

Don’t Blow A Fuse.

Kelly told me that a few days ago when she was plugging or unplugging the cell phone charger into the car, it wouldn’t work, and at approximately the same time, the radio stopped working. So this weekend I looked up the fuse for the radio and pulled it. It was fine. So I just assumed that it was beyond me and told her to call the dealership and get it in there. Then last night, I thought “Wait, what IF! There was another fuse for the Rear Entertainment System? And that one was blown? So I get out of the van (I was waiting for Kelly at the store), and pop open the hood, pull the fuse and… Nothing. It’s fine.

THEN I get the brilliant Idea to find out if there’s a different fuse for the power/accessory thing. There is. It’s blown. So I grab me a quarter and jam it into that slot and BOOM! We’re good as gold. DVD player, radio, everything is back in action.

I’m just like MacGyver, baby!

Red Orb

I went to our sales conference this morning to see the demo of our product and it went pretty well. The sales people didn’t boo or anything. Since I’m waiting for our source tree to get merged and more things to happen, I’m basically sitting at my desk all day today, doing nothing.

I might start playing Something or not.

Bloggin N Workin, And wishing, and hoping

I don’t blog too much about work, and that’s for a good reason. Work is just something I do, not what defines me, and I’m usually pretty uninterested about it. But this weekend I got called in and had to work on Saturday, which is something that I don’t like at all. However, the position that I’m in at work is such where I’m the one who is responsible for making sure my team plays nicely with others, and as such, I take the point where someone on our team needs to be there. Fortunately it doesn’t happen often.

Also, today is another ‘first day of the rest of my life’ and I’m officially well into being 30something.

Nyah Nyah, I’m better than you.

I’m better than you and you and you. Because I’ve posted for *3* days in a row! Ahahaha!

I realized that for christmas I got one of the most kick-ass gifts ever: Season one of the A-Team! Let’s hear a big hurrah for children of the 80’s! I can remember living vicariously, through Bo & Luke, Michael Knight, Hannibal & BA, Airwolf and a little girl named ‘Punky’ (Yes, I admit it!) and lots of others. Man, they just don’t make TV like that anymore.
