Red Orb

I went to our sales conference this morning to see the demo of our product and it went pretty well. The sales people didn’t boo or anything. Since I’m waiting for our source tree to get merged and more things to happen, I’m basically sitting at my desk all day today, doing nothing.

I might start playing Something or not.

Bloggin N Workin, And wishing, and hoping

I don’t blog too much about work, and that’s for a good reason. Work is just something I do, not what defines me, and I’m usually pretty uninterested about it. But this weekend I got called in and had to work on Saturday, which is something that I don’t like at all. However, the position that I’m in at work is such where I’m the one who is responsible for making sure my team plays nicely with others, and as such, I take the point where someone on our team needs to be there. Fortunately it doesn’t happen often.

Also, today is another ‘first day of the rest of my life’ and I’m officially well into being 30something.

Nyah Nyah, I’m better than you.

I’m better than you and you and you. Because I’ve posted for *3* days in a row! Ahahaha!

I realized that for christmas I got one of the most kick-ass gifts ever: Season one of the A-Team! Let’s hear a big hurrah for children of the 80’s! I can remember living vicariously, through Bo & Luke, Michael Knight, Hannibal & BA, Airwolf and a little girl named ‘Punky’ (Yes, I admit it!) and lots of others. Man, they just don’t make TV like that anymore.

More stuff

I finally finished PoP:The Warrior Within this week. I got it last year for christmas, and worked my way through it till about 2/3, then got distracted. This year I got Shadow Hearts: Covenant (last year’s hot game), and I need to do the first one first, but I swore I wasn’t going to move to a new RPG till I finished PoP. I really like the game engine of PoP, the motion dynamics are so fluid, they’re amazing.

I’m also going to resolve a few things: I’d like to take my laptop with me more often. I have been not doing that and sometimes I’ll be wanting to blog and not able to, so I’d like to eliminate that as an excuse. I also want to take my journal with me and try using that more too. OK, I guess that’s one resolution.

Lastly, I’d like to write an open source blog client – I like some of the ones that are out there, but they’re either for pay or platform specific. If there was already a partially done java client, I’d take it and run, or maybe work on my own from scratch. There’s many the time that I’ve wanted one.

Also Lastly: I was thinking the other day as I drove down the road about the little lights that are in the lane dividers, the reflective bumps. When I was back in Canuckistani some time ago, I noticed a strange anomaly: that on the roads and highways there, they are embedded into the concrete – in a little rut type dealio. I didn’t think anything of it until I realized that it was done with a purpose, instead of randomly (as I assume most things are). Anyways, gotta run. Peace Out, G.

As time goes by

Well, I’m sitting at home, having a quiet night, watching all the episodes of house that have been tivo’d for a while. I’m also typing this on my ‘old’ laptop – my 1ghz 15″ tibook. About 1/3 of the keys are missing, because my son has a fetish for mac keyboards and peeling the keys off of them, and I hardly use this machine since I got my work laptop. I do need to get a new keyboard for it though, and I really should find someone who can use it better, like my brother or something. So here’s some updates on things that have happened:

Christmas was excellent. Very low-key, the kids had a ball. We got a table for Christian’s trains and set them up and he wouldn’t leave it. As Caitlin picked up presents and we told her to who they belonged to, he ignored us. When there were presents for HIM to open – he ignored us. We had to drag him away for breakfast.

Caitlin got an L-Max. That’s kind of like a gameboy, but it’s made by Leapfrog and has really great edutainment games that go with it. She loves it.

I’ve been really thinking too about trying to blog more consistently, making it almost a resolution, although those things never work out (except the time I resolved to eat a whole case of cadbury’s caramel eggs.. man that was good times.)
