cyber-anthropology

i’m reading a book called ‘cyberia’, it’s an older book, maybe 10 years old, and it’s a bit of a chronicle about the early days in cyberspace, but really, it’s more of a treatise on what the global hallucination called ‘cyberspace’ really is. as i was reading, i realized that this is something i’ve been really interested in – the history and culture of the internet. i’ve read a lot of similar books lately, including ‘hackers’, ‘insanely great’, ‘crypto’, ‘the cathedral and the bazaar’ and other similar texts, and i’m constantly fascinated. i wonder if this could be a possible career or at the very least subject of study once my high-tech career is over?
